Dietetics plays an important role in Chinese medicine and often is the beginning of a therapy. In the case of infections, Chinese medicine assumes that an attack of pathogenic factors is present. These factors have to be identified and localized in order to establish a therapy. The article presents an overview of diagnosis and Chinese dietetics in the case of colds with the help of a case study.
