Pensar é sempre representar? Sobre os limites da representação na psicanálise

2017
Trauma, in Freud's work, can be conceived as an input of energy that overruns the psychic apparatus, preventing it from performing the work of thought. Its’ an instinctual drive that cannot be elaborated, cannot be thought – as evidenced by the notion of automatic anxiety as opposed to signal anxiety. Under this assumption, the traumatic symptoms often found in contemporary psychoanalytic clinic would attest the collapse of thought. This work aims to problematize the statement that the traumatic is unthinkable. For that, we’ll find subsidies in Ferenczi’s and Winnicott’s work, intending to affirm that thought and body are inseparable dimensions when it comes to trauma.
