Enteral nutritional support in postoperative patients of pancreaticoduodenectomy

2017
Objective To evaluate the effect of enteral nutrition supported in postoperative pancreatic cancer patients of pancreaticoduodenectomy. Methods A retrospective study was performed on 38 patients who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy(Whipple surgery)from March 2015 to December 2016.There were 12 cases of enteral nutrition(EN group)and 26 cases of total parenteral nutrition(TPN group). The inflammatory, nutrition and complications were compared between the two groups. Results The enteral nutrition group and the total parenteral nutrition group had the same effect in nutrition(P>0.05). The inflammatory(P=0.02), the function of gastrointestinal tract and complications in the EN group were better than those in the TPN group. Conclusion Enteral nutrition in postoperative pancreatic cancer patients of pancreaticoduodenectomy can accelerate intestinal function recovery, reduce complications and improve the rehabilitation of patients.
