Solving the problem of heat transfer of cooling shed for animals

2017
In the summer, the outdoor temperature in the central part of Vietnam can be very high, reaching 34–35°C and even more than 42°C in some places. Hot climate makes a strong influence on animal organism; as a result, it reduces animal weight and/or quantity of eggs. Therefore, air conditioning is extremely needed in animal industries. There are several ways to cool the temperature, but each has its advantages and disadvantages. We propose to use underground water at the temperature of 24–25°C for this purpose. One of methods of cooling sheds for animals is watering the roof. For calculating the amount of heat from the air inside the animal sheds transferred into the cooling water, we propose to approximately calculate the amount of heat transferred from the air inside the sheds into the cooling water through corrugated panels of the corrugated iron roof sheets and neglect the influence of the heat transfer on the overlaps of the sheets. It appears that this method may contain errors. The authors solved the issue of cooling animal sheds by watering the roof by analytical method. Specifically, we solved the problem of heat conductivity of the fin having constant cross section along its finite length, wherein two sides of the blades surrounding by various environments. Additionally, the calculation considered the effect of solar radiation. For that purpose, the authors created a heat balance equation at steady state for any infinitesimal element of blades, after that we solved differential equation. The resulting solution of the special case completely coincided with the solution of the classical issue. The authors applied the results for calculating practical problems.
