Torque Characteristic Analysis of a Novel Brushless Dual Rotor Machine for Hybrid Electric Vehicles

2019
In order to solve the problem of reliability reduction caused by brushes in electrical variable transmission (EVT), a new structure permanent magnet induction cascaded brushless dual rotor machine (PMI-CBDRM) is proposed, which is used to replace the dual rotor machine in EVT. Firstly, this paper will introduce the structure and principle of PMI-CBDRM. The cascading asynchronous torque characteristic of PMI-CDRBM is analyzed by the equivalent circuit method. Compared with the finite element calculation results, the coincidence of results are good, and the correctness of the calculation model is verified. Moreover, the full-speed domain torque characteristics are analyzed, such as the cascaded asynchronous torque, doubly-fed synchronous torque, transient torque, etc. Finally, the feasibility of PMI-CBDRM in the dualmechanical port contactless torque transmission and speed regulation system is discussed.
