Background Renal artery fibromuscular dysplasia (RAFMD) is a non-atherosclerotic cause of renal artery stenosis often affecting the young. Percutaneous transluminal renal angioplasty (PTRA) is the treatment of choice but there are few studies of the outcome of the procedure.
