Doubly excited states by charge exchange of highly charged ions with gaseous targets: Quartet system of N V☆

1988
Abstract Doubly excited states can be produced by electron capture from a gas target by low energy (∼- 10 keV/u) highly charged ions previously prepared in a metastable state. This method is demonstrated by the analysis of N V ∗∗ lines observed in the VUV range. New transitions are identified.
