A Study on Vigorous Container Seedling Cultivation of Zelkova schneideriana

The cultivation experiments of vigorous container seedlings of Zelkova schneideriana involving different media,fertilizers,containers,light and water conditions were carried out.The experimental results indicated that the medium and the size of container had very significant effects on the seedling growth,sufficient light and water were very beneficial for the growth of seedlings.Using the medium of 80 % forest soil + 20 % burnt soil and 20 % compound fertilizer as the cultivation medium,container of 15 cm×19 cm,biogas waste fertilizer as top dressing could achieved good effect.The height and basal diameter growth with sufficient light and water supply was 2.8 times of seedlings under shady conditions and with insufficient water.
