A method of producing an essentially neutral polymer dispersion electrically, comprising polymerizing one or more nonionic monomers in the presence of at least one nonionic surfactant comprising an alkylene oxide adduct of an alkyl alcohol, the alkyl alcohol has 10 to 16 carbon atoms, wherein the number of alkylene oxide groups is less than or equal to 14 and wherein said step of polymerizing occurs in the absence of ionic surfactants.
