Second Transurethral Resection of Bladder Cancer

2018
In high-risk Ta/T1 bladder cancers, a second (restaging, repeat, or re-) TUR achieves better local control, reduces understaging, facilitates response to intravesical therapy, and improve outcome with lower rates of recurrence and progression in the long-term follow-up. Second TUR may potentially impact the prognosis and the curative rate of the bladder cancers.
