Antibacterial activity of lipophilic fractions of Potentilla alba and Potentilla anserina herbs, which differ in component composition, was studied for the first time. The degree of antibacterial activity of fractions was established. It was shown that P. aeruginosa is highly sensitive to lipophilic factions of the studied Potentilla species. In relation to S.aureus, P. vulgaris high inhibiting activity was revealed for chloroformic extract of Potentilla anserina herb. Lipophilic extract from Potentilla alba is highly active against P.vulgaris, but less active against S.aureus. Highly sensitive to chloroformic factions of Potentilla alba and Potentilla anserina herbs is E. coli. Low level of sensivity to the studied concentrations of lipophilic extractions B. subtilis revealed.
