A method of detecting water into steam

2007
A method for the detection of water entry in a steam turbine may include these steps: measuring the temperature of one of the steam pipes of the steam turbine at regular intervals, record the measured temperature values and determining based on the recorded temperature readings whether a sharp decline has occurred which a gradual increase in the temperature of the steam line is followed. The method may further comprise the steps of calculating the rate of change of decrease in the temperature of the steam line and the rate of change of the increase in temperature of the vapor line. The sharp drop followed by a gradual increase in the temperature of the steam line may include a decrease in temperature followed by a rise in temperature, the change speed of the temperature drop exceeds the rate of change of temperature rise.
