Effects of WenShen Capsule on Sexual Function of Depressed Rat Model

Objective: To provide experimental evidence for Wenshen capsule in treating sexual dysfunction by exploring the effects of different dosages of WenShen capsules on sexual hormone in the serum and sexual behavioral science.Method: Depressed models were duplicated with chronic stress method.Contents of testosterone and estradiol in the serum were detected with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Result: ① Compared with the control group of model,the latency period of straddling in different groups were shortened,the straddling times in high dosage group of Wenshen capsule were increased,the number of rats in straddling and ejaculation was increased,which illustrated that sexual ability of rats in different groups were improved;② compared with the control group of model,the contents of testosterone in the serum of rats in the groups were raised significantly;the contents of estradiol in the serum of rats in the groups were decreased significantly.Conclusion: ①Wenshen capsule could be used to treat sexual disorder of rats suffering from depression;② Different dosages of Wenshen capsule and the effects on rats with depression show certain dose-effect relationship,clinical efficacy of high dosage group is stronger than the low dosage group.
