Articulação internacional das atingidas e dos atingidos pela Vale S.A.

This paper originates from the hypothesis that the International Articulation of Men and Women Hit by the Vale S.A., created in 2009 by intellectuals of social and syndical movements among other organizations, builds a net on a international scale to promote confronting strategies towards the socio-environmental impacts caused by the mining company Vale S.A. The actions happen through social media, such as blog and Facebook, and on the streets with protests, demonstrations, and seminars. Based on the Gramscian matrix, we have observed that the International Articulation of Men and Women Hit by the Vale S.A. does a work of unveiling the consensuses built by the company's hegemony regarding its action in the field of sustainability. Therefore, in giving visibility to the socio-environmental impacts provoked by the mining company, the organization contributes to force social changes.
