In vitro growth inhibition activities of recombinant feline interferon on all lines derived from canine tumours

1995
Abstract To evaluate the anti-tumour effect of recombinant feline interferon (rFeIFN) against canine neoplastic cells, the antiproliferation and anti-colony-forming activities of r f e ifn were investigated in vitro, using four cell lines derived from canine tumours; oral acanthomatous epulis ( mca-b1 ), mammary benign mixed tumour ( mcm-b2 ), squamous cell carcinoma ( cscc ), and malignant melanoma ( cmc-1 ). The r f e ifn had a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on the cell growth and colony formation of all the cell lines, although the degree of inhibition was lower than that in the feline cell lines used as a positive control, and the sensitivity of the cells to r f e ifn differed.
