Surface photochemistry: semiconductor photoinduced valence isomerization of quadricyclane to norbornadiene

Abstract Contrary to a recent report, the valence isomerization via a radical cation,of quadricyclane to norbornadiene on the surface of illuminated CdS and ZnO is described.
