Introduction: There has been a growing search for a healthy life, with a balanced diet in search of the perfect body. However, often healthy eating is not enough for such, increasing demand for food supplements, which are often used inadequately, without the prescription of a licensed nutritionist, so it is important the nutritionist's knowledge about healthy eating and sports nutrition, in order to guide their clientele with regard to this practice. Objective: To evaluate the knowledge of nutrition scholars about healthy eating and sports nutrition. Materials and Methods: This study was carried out with nutrition students enrolled in the private colleges of Montes Claros-MG. To collect data, we used questionnaires that included the sociodemographic, economic profile and life habits. To evaluate the knowledge about healthy eating and sports nutrition, the individuals answered a questionnaire adapted from Zamin and Schimanoski (2010). Results: 189 individuals were evaluated, of which 89.6 were female, 46.1% of the population reported having a very good knowledge about healthy eating, 83.9% knew about sports nutrition and 88.6% sports nutrition in the course of nutrition. Conclusion: There is significant knowledge about healthy eating and sports nutrition among academics, but there are still some shortcomings and doubts regarding information about the subject. In this sense, the importance of the sensitization of nutrition professionals from their graduation to these practices is noted.
