Airborne time-domain electromagnetic method of prognosticating oil and gas prospective areas

1992
Time-domain Electromagnetic Method (TDEM) is widely used in the USSR and in many other countries for solving diverse geological problems, mainly for ore prospecting. Airborne Version of TDEM is well developed in Canada, India and USSR, where it is known as AMPP system. AMPP surveys were conducted by «Centrgeofisika» Enterprize in collaboration with Electromagnetic Division of Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute. Technology of applaying AMPP to the problem of prognosticating Oil and Gas was developed in this division in 1985-87. The Technology is based on mapping Geoelectric Halos of Hydrocarbon (HC) deposits.
