Radiation accident of 1957 and Eastern-Urals radioactive trace : Analysis of measurement data and laboratory experiments

Abstract On the basis of appropriate laboratory experiments, energy release and composition of explosion products were determined for the accident that occurred at the Production Association “Mayak” (Chelyabinsk-40, Russia) in 1957. Based on archive data, quantitative characteristics of the formed radioactive trace structure have been specified up to a distance of more than 100 km from the epicenter.
