Bolt element and method for the attachment of a bolt element in a component made of a composite material

A method for mounting a bolt element in a component made of a composite material will be described. The bolt member has a an abutment surface having the head portion and a protrusion projecting from the head shaft part which is provided at its side remote from the head part end with a tip which optionally merges via a cylindrical portion in a threaded cylinder. The bolt member is pressed with the tip first into the component and through the component, to the side facing the head part of the bolt element side of the component engages the threaded cylinder in contact and the tip thereby creating a hole in the component. The bolt element is then rotated so that the thread of the threaded cylinder in the wall of the hole forming an internal thread. A pin member is also claimed.
