Contraception and vaginal infections

1968
The effects of Lyndiol on the incidence of vaginal mycosis were studied in 64 patients aged 20-46 years. Vaginal smears were taken before and after each months treatment; the study has been in progress for 3 months. No significant increase in vaginal mycosis (Candida Leptotrix Trichomonas) was noted but a decrease in the mixed bacterial flora of the vagina was seen and a corresponding increase in frequency of Doderleins bacillus was observed. Study of this phenomenon is planned.
