Agitator and process for suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agitator for suspension polymn. which enables the production of a higher-quality vinyl chloride resin by specifically modifying the shape of the main blade of a Brumagin-type agitator. SOLUTION: An agitator for suspension polymn. is provided wherein a main blade 3 is installed at the end of a supporting part 2 extending along the direction of a normal line of a vertical shaft 1 and a rear blade 4 extending from one end of the main blade 3 forms an outwardly inclined part with an angle of α. The angle α is pref. in the range of 5-60°, and the area of the rear blade 4 is pref. in the range of 10-60% of that of the main blade 3. The agitator can be used for the polymn. of vinyl chloride or for the copolymn. of vinyl chloride and other monomers. The use of a polymerizer having a reflux condenser is esp. pref.
