Customized BC-CSRR Loaded Patch Antenna for Satellite communication

A patch antenna loaded with customized broadside coupled – complementary split ring resonator(BC-CSRR) for radio navigation, fixed satellite and radio location applications is presented in this paper. Miniaturization is a great demand in today’s world of wireless communication. Hence, we propose an antenna with compact size of 17x20x1.6 mm3. The proposed antenna is operating in double bands with return loss of -16.6 dB and -17.11 dB at 7.2 GHz and 9.4 GHz. Also, the gain of the antenna is about 2.01 dB and 2.13 dB at 7.2 GHz and 9.4 GHz respectively. The size and dual band characteristics of the proposed antenna makes it more suitable for practical use. The feasibility of such antennas are demonstrated using Ansoft HFSS simulations.
