Enhancing Seismic Resolution in the Brent Field by a 3D VSP

1995
A significant portion of the remaining oil reserves of the Brent field in the northern North Sea are located in a crestal zone of complex faulting and collapse, usually referred to as the Brent slumps. This zone, consisting of a series of strike-elongate fault-blocks with widths of about 150m, separated by faults with throws of up to 200 ft, is at present being developed by means of horizontal wells, of which two have been drilled so far.
