Result analysis of clinical examination for 177 patients with dengue fever

2017
Objective To analyze the characteristics of the clinical examination results for 177 patients with dengue fever, in order to provide experimental basis for the diagnosis of the disease. Methods Analyzed the characteristics, statistical analysis was adopted as the research method. And the data was chosen from the cases of dengue fever treated in Guangdong Provincial TCM Hospital during July and November in 2014. Results 217 cases were regarded as suspected cases, including 177 confirmed positive cases and 40 confirmed negative cases. All 217 cases were divided into 3 groups according to age: group 1: 0-13 years old (20 cases, positive rate: 70.0%), group 2: 14-50 years old (125 cases, positive rate: 85.6%), and group 3: ≥51 years old (72 cases, positive rate: 77.8%). Among 177 confirmed positive cases, decreased WBC occurred in 62.1% of cases, decreased PLT occurred in 32.2% of cases, decreased neutrophils occurred in 35.0% of cases, increased ALT occurred in 54.8% of cases, increased AST occurred in 29.4% of cases, and CREA anomaly occurred in 21.5% of cases, higher than those among 40 confirmed negative cases, and serum urea anomaly occurred in 10.7% of cases. The reduction degree of WBC and PLT in group 2 and group 3 were more obvious than those in group 1. The positive rate of dengue fever in adult group and elderly group were higher than that in children group. Conclusions The results of laboratory inspection conforms with the characteristics of dengue fever described in diagnostics guide, however, the patients in the survey are older than the cases reported before. WBC and PLT are valuable for screening. Key words: Dengue fever; Clinical examination; Dengue virus
