Support vector machine based energy aware routing in wireless sensor networks

2016
Recent advances in the routing protocols of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) using Machine Learning (ML) techniques immensely aid in addressing their energy depletion issue. Numerous ML solutions have been proposed to minimize the resource utilization in WSNs for prolonging the networks lifetime. In this paper, we present an efficient support vector based clustering protocol which efficiently assign the sensor nodes to the nearest cluster while balancing the energy dissipation among the cluster heads. The proposed has been compared with Low energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) protocol and shows better resource utilization within WSNs context. The proposed system is simulated and tested on Networks Simulator 2 (NS-2).
