Mobile IPTV, a TV service with better mobility and interactivity, is a promising convergence service. On current wireless networks, however, some barriers exist against it. To overcome the barriers, three research objects on wireless transmission are suggested: dynamic multicast, variable multicast coding, and bandwidth extension.
