La experiencia cubana en el cierre de heridas traumáticas y quirúrgicas con la nueva tecnología de utilización de los ésteres cianoacrílicos

2013
During the last thirty years, some cyanoacrylic esters have successfully been applied for closure surgical and trauma wounds. Advantages of the application of this kind of chemical compounds, synthetic tissue adhesives, comparing it with the traditional methods as sutures, staples or adhesive tape, have been recognized [1]. Tissue adhesives significantly lowered, the time to complete the procedure for closure wounds, levels of pain and rate of erythema. They also are an effective barrier to microbial penetration by gram-positive and gram-negative motile and nonmotile species. Tissue adhesives accelerate the rate of healing, stops bleeding and enhanced the rate of epithelialization. Tisuacryl®, is the Cuban synthetic adhesive which has been introduced step by step in clinical practice proving its advantages. Nowadays, this product has the Medical-Sanitary license granted by the Centre of Governmental Control of Medical Devices for skin applications (1996), oral surgery (1998) and esophageal surgery (2008).
