Seismological station SisMob HAR2, used to monitor the landslide of Harmalière, installed in the commune of Sinard (Isère)

2018
The picture shows the seismological station HAR2, which is installed on the landslide area of the Harmaliere, in the commune of Sinard (Isere). This seismological station is part of a set of 3 stations installed on both sides of the landslide to study its evolution. It is powered by batteries recharged by the solar panels that we see installed on the tripods. The batteries are located in the two metal boxes on the ground. The first one is dedicated to data acquisition and power supply of the digitizer, the second one is dedicated to communication and data transfer to the Resif data center. At the back of the solar panels is a metal cabinet containing the digitizer that records the ground movements felt by the seismological sensor installed nearby. Two metal tubes can be seen on either side of the ground recess. These tubes are used to support an extensometer that measures the elongation of the cable connecting the reference point on the right side of the subsidence and the unstable measuring point on the left side. These instruments are part of the national mobile seismological park (SisMob) of Resif, a national research infrastructure dedicated to the observation and understanding of the internal Earth structure and dynamics. Resif is based on observation networks of high technological level, composed of seismological, geodetic and gravimetric instruments deployed in a dense manner throughout the French territory. The data collected allow to study with a high spatio-temporal resolution the ground deformation, the superficial and deep structures, the seismicity at the local and global scale and the natural hazards, especially seismic, on the French territory. Resif integrates with European (EPOS - European Plate Observing System) and worldwide instruments that allow to image the interior of the Earth as a whole and to study many natural phenomena.
