A polymeric coupler for use in photographic material

The light-sensitive layers contain at least one polymeric coupler having the following structure: in which: A is a chromogenic coupler having ethylenic unsaturation, B is a vinyl monomer, R1 denotes H, NH4 or an alkali metal, R2 is NH2, NH-NH2, NHCOR3, NHCOOR3 or OR3, R3 is an alkyl radical having from 1-8 carbon atoms, x has the value 10-50 % in moles, y 0-80 % in moles and z 1-50 % in moles. These polymeric couplers are characterised by a higher coupling activity, with a maximum optical density of the light-sensitive layers.
