Effect of tungsten on corrosion behavior of amorphous FeCrZr alloys

1990
Abstract Corrosion behavior of amorphous Fe 65−X Cr 25 W X Zr 10 alloys were investigated by measuring corrosion rates and polarization curves in 1N HC1. An increase in W content up to 1 at% extremely reduces the corrosion rates of amorphous FeCrWZr alloys. The homogeneous nature of amorphous alloys accounts for the high corrosion resistance.
