Robust Current Controller forIPMSMHighSpeedSensorless Drives

Thispaperproposes anewcurrent controller forhighspeeddrives ofIPMSMposition sensorless control. Ithasbeenpointed outthattheconventional current control system withlowperformance design becomes unstable under highspeedregion. First, thispapershowsthatposition estimation errorcauseunstable phenomenon, andthis in- stability isespecially emphasized underhighspeedregion. To overcomethisinstability, simplymodified controller with2DOF structure isproposed inthispaper. Stability usingtheproposed current controller isthenanalyzed theoretically, andtheproposed controller canenlarge robust stable region forIPMSM position sensorless control, and someexperimental results showthattheproposed controller issuperior tothatusing conventional one.
