Circulatory dynamics of pregnancy: III. Interstitial fluid volume control

1970
Abstract The change in plasma colloid osmotic pressure of pregnant and nonpregnant animals following repeated injections of isotonic saline was determined. There was a tendency for fluid to be retained in the circulatory system of the pregnant animals. An analogue model of the circulatory system was used to help gain insight into the mechanisms responsible for the observed changes.
