Background: Neonatal endotracheal intubation is a life saving procedure and a vital part of neonatal resuscitation. The anatomy of the neonatal airway makes this procedure challenging and there is concern that trainees are lacking proficiency in this procedure. A survey among pediatric trainees at our institution revealed many factors that impacted the delay in acquisition of proficiency (Figure 1).
