Carrier catalyst for producing vinyl acetate monomer, method for producing the catalyst, method for producing vinyl acetate monomer, modified catalyst carrier and method for producing the modified catalyst carrier

1996
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a vinyl acetate monomer by using a catalyst comprising a specific element additively on the carrier, in the carrier catalyst comprising Pd, and the like, as a catalyst active component on the carrier of silicon dioxide, and the like, with a similar or improved selectivity and higher activity than the conventional catalyst. SOLUTION: The carrier comprises additively at least one element selected from the IA, IIA, IIIA and IVB groups of the periodic table in the carrier catalyst comprising acetic salts of palladium, gold and alkali metal as a carrier catalyst component on the carrier formed of silicon dioxide, aluminum silicate or aluminum oxide. It is useful that the carrier is pre-coated by using cation in an amount of about 1-25 weight to the weight of the carrier. Advantageously, the cation from the III and IVB groups of the periodic table, particularly aluminum, zirconium and titanium, is used as a form of water-soluble salts. The supported body can be pre-treated by using each cation or its an arbitrary combination. COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
