Operation of air core current transducers in the presence of strong interfering magnetic fields

2019
In the paper the susceptibility of various constructions of air core current transducers to interfering magnetic fields have been described. In the case of Rogowski coil, the Ampere’s Law is usually used to show that only the current that is encircled by the coil influences the output voltage. In reality, the idealized conditions necessary for applying Ampere’s Law cannot always be assumed. In such cases an original analytical approach presented in the paper was shown to be successful. In the paper a method for compensating the interference effect in the case of the transducer made from straight solenoid has also been presented.
