STAT6 Monoclonal Antibody is Highly Specific for the Distinction between Solitary Fibrous Tumour and Prostatic Stromal Proliferations

2019
: Sir: Solitary fibrous tumour (SFT) is a mesenchymal tumour of fibroblastic type originally recognized within the pleura. Extrapleural examples have now been reported to occur in almost all anatomic sites throughout the body, including the genitourinary tract. SFTs involving the prostate gland are rare and their occurrence often poses a diagnostic challenge for surgical pathologists who may be unfamiliar with the spectrum of mesenchymal lesions involving the prostate.
