Vanadium Microalloying Improves the Hardenability of 40 MnBH Steel

This paper examines the reason for the first 40MnBH rails of Baotou Steel(Group) Corporation to fail the end quench test.In experiments,vanadium microalloying was employed to improve the hardenability of 40 MnBH steel.It also brings forward recommendations to revise relevant standards and aspects requiring attention during production of this type of steel.
