Negaton to Positon Conversion Yield. I. Measurements

Abstract The negaton to positon conversion yield differential in positon energy and solid angle has been measured for negaton kinetic energies ranging from 2.0 to 4.0 MeV and for various converter materials and thicknesses (Cu: 138 mg/cm 2 , Ag: 203 mg/cm 2 and Au: 29.8 to 759 mg/cm 2 ). Angular distributions of the emerging positons have been determined for gold targets with thicknesses of 58.1, 203 and 759 mg/cm 2 at incoming negaton energies of 2.0 and 3.5 MeV.
