Reduced-Order Linear Kalman Filter Theory in Application of Sensorless Control for PMSMs

A novel sensorless technique based on reduced-order linear Kalman filter(RLKF) algorithm was proposed to solve the drawback of large calculated amount in the EKF based sensorless control on PMSM.Through the investigation into the theory of RLKF and comparison with EKF.Simulink models of the sensorless control system were built.Experimental results prove the proposed RLKF applied in position estimation can cut down calculated amount,easily adjust parameters,and obtain excellent dynamic speed response likewise.
