Comparison of damping characteristics of polymer-stell and polymer-al composite structure

2011
Composite structure of polymer-steel is generally used as vibration damping at industrial applications. This structure is usually three layers as steel-polymer-steel. This study presents an alternative test model besides a real model of vibration damping. The test model is a polymer-Al composite structure and the real model is a polymer-stell composite structure. F = 1000 N harmonic load is applied on both models. In frequency analysis 0 to 300 Hz range of frequency is assumed. ANSYS WORKBECH 8.1 program is used in the analysis of systems. The analysis results obtained from the test model and the real model are compared from the viewpoint of vibration damping effect. The results show that the test model is sutiable for vibration damping.
