Research advancement of bile acids in drug and food.

Bile acids are the main components of bile and have very important physiological functions in organisms.Meanwhile,as a valuable biosurfactant,the bile acids can form several supramolecular self-assemblies,such as micelles,vesicles,and so on,which possess potential drug delivery properties.In this paper,the recent progress on bile acids in drug and food have been reviewed and discussed.Furthermore,the development potential of bile acids in drug delivery systems has been expected.
