Separation of Cancer Cells on Graphene Coated Micro-Sieves

2021
The article presents application of graphene deposited with Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) method on micro-sieves designed for separation of cancer cells. The tests were carried out with the use of copper micro-sieves. The sieve holes were made with laser ablation method. The tests demonstrated that graphene coated sieves did not have any damaging effect, in terms of mechanics, on cancer cells. Copper micro-sieves showed damaging effects, both mechanical and toxic, on the cells. The graphene layer was not sufficient enough for copper micro-sieve to show biocompatibility with cancer cells.
