IT Integration Strategy Selection in M&A and Its Activities Framework

Effective IT integration plays an important role to facilitate the accomplishment of MA.After the analysis of objectives and challenges of IT integration in MA,the author found the activities of IT integration should be blended within the process of MA.Based on this understanding,the paper presents an activities framework of IT integration in MA to guild the steps of IT integration practices in MA.The second step of this framework---selecting aligned IT integration strategy with MA strategy---was further studied in this paper.The concept ″operating model″ was employed to illustrate the different IT integration requirements of main MA strategies,and then we developed the aligned model that matched five IT integration strategies with four MA strategies,which provides a theoretical guideline for IT integration strategy selection in MA.
