Left ventricular reduction in a Jehovah’s Witness

2000
Abstract For Jehovah's Witnesses with severe heart failure, left ventricular reduction surgery may be a satisfactory alternative to cardiac transplantation. Compared with transplantation, left ventricular reduction surgery can involve less blood loss thus decreasing the need for blood-volume replacement. More importantly, left ventricular reduction surgery obviates the need for a donor organ.
