Facile Synthesis of MIL‐68(In) Films with Controllable Morphology

2012
Metal–organic framework MIL-68(In) films on silicon substrates have been fabricated successfully by a secondary growth method. The spherical colloidal seeds are 80 nm in size. The morphologies of the crystals in the film could be obtained by controlling the synthetic conditions. The organic base, which is an important factor that influences the crystal morphology, was focused upon. Crystal evolution is discussed and a possible growth mechanism is proposed based on observations made by means of SEM and XRD.
