Halogen oxidation of mixed aminetungsten tricarbonyls

Halogen oxidation of mixed aminetungsten tricarbonyls, (L-L.) (amine) (CO)3 W (L-L. =o-phen or 2,2′-bipy; amine = cyclohexylamine, piperidine, morpholine, n-butylamine and n-hexylamine), at ambient temperature resulted in the formation of unusual products (L-L)(amine)(CO)3 W. nX2 (X = 1, n = 1; X = Br, n = 2). Their formation has been inferred on the basis of elemental analysis, i.r. and conductivity measurements.
