Application of "cross" suture dura suspension method in the repairment of skull

Objective To investigate the significance of " cross" suture dura suspension method application in the repair of skull.Methods Sixty-two patients who underwent titanium mesh repair of skull defect were selected as subjects.Digital three-dimensional shape data of all subjects were recorded.According to the dura mater suspension method,all patients were divided into two regular dura suspension group (24 cases) and cross sutured dura suspension group(38 cases).The operation time,hospitalization days and complications were also recorded.Results the operation time and hospitalization periods in cross sutured dura suspension group were (95.80 ± 17.31) min and(11.60 ± 0.82) d,less than those in regular dura suspension group [(105.41 ± 14.62) min,(13.00 ± 2.54) d] and the differences were significant (t =2.270 and 3.426,P ＜ 0.05).The complication rate in cross sutured dura suspension group was 3％ (1/38),significant lower than that in regular dura suspension group [25％ (6/24) ; P =0.011].Conclusion The method of cross sutured dura suspension could be shorten the time of operation time and hospitalization days.And it could reduce the occurrence of surgical complications and then it's worthy of clinical application.
