Crystal Structure and Magnetic Properties of the Quasi‐One‐Dimensional Compound (Ca1−xYx)0.82CuO2 Prepared at Room Pressure

1999
Across a solid-solution range of a self-assembled and crystal-engineered quasi-one-dimensional cuprate compound [(Ca1−xYx)0.82CuO2], spanning from Cu2.00+ to Cu2.36+, the system continuously transforms from a long-range antiferromagnetically (AF) ordered state (at Cu2.00+) to a complex magnetic regime, consisting of spin dimers (S=0) and paramagnetic spin segments (S=1/2), see illustration.
