Model Predictive Control for Quasi-Z-Source Inverter without Weighting Factors

2020
In this paper, a simple and very effective model predictive control (MPC) strategy for quasi-Z-source inverter (qZSI) is proposed. The aim of this paper is to present a MPC scheme that avoids the cumbersome weighting factor tuning process while reducing the computational power. The proposed control scheme uses two individual cost functions for the load current and capacitor voltage, without demanding any penalty coefficients, thereby eliminating the weighting factors. In addition, a strategy called power compensation is developed to accurately obtain the inductor current reference value and minimum output harmonics. Finally, simulation results are implemented to validate the performance of the proposed strategy.
